Dafni is a Partner in the corporate, commercial and banking and finance team of A.G. Erotocritou LLC focusing on corporate M&A transactions, restructurings, growth capital / bank financing transactions and selected private client matters (primarily relating to trusts).
Dafni has acted for various clients on M&A transactions (including the preparation, negotiation and finalisation of transaction documentation and leading legal due diligence), bank financing transactions, real estate transactions, as well as advising on shareholders’ agreements and other arrangements for entrepreneurs looking to set up new businesses. Dafni’s most notable transactions include acquisitions, disposals and debt financings of businesses in the hospitality and restaurant sector, as well as some of the largest bank financing transactions both within Cyprus and across Europe.
Prior to joining the firm, Dafni worked as a corporate lawyer at Stephenson Harwood LLP in London, specialising in private equity transactions, acting both for institutional investors and management teams, including advising on shareholders’ agreements and related arrangements. Dafni has extensive experience across all aspects of M&A transactions and private equity deals, including MBOs, bolt-on acquisitions, investments and divestitures, as well as public IPOs and secondary listings on the AIM market. Before qualifying as a solicitor, Dafni worked as a property paralegal and spent some time as a trainee in the corporate restructuring and insolvency department of another City law firm.
Since joining the firm in 2022, Dafni has authored a number of publications, mainly in the areas of corporate governance, private wealth and regulatory.
Dafni was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2023 and is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales since 2017, following the successful completion of her LLB and Legal Practice Course. Previously, she had completed undergraduate studies in Mathematics.
Dafni has been recommended by Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in Cyprus for commercial, corporate and M&A. Dafni has also been recommended by IFLR in the financial and corporate sector as a rising star.
